Dr. Arpita S. Patel, DDS | Prosthodontist

A complete plan for the smile you want.

A smile makeover can involve more than color or shape. When teeth are worn, older dental work is failing, or several changes need to work together, Dr. Patel plans with the health, comfort, function, and appearance of your smile in view.

When cosmetic work needs more planning.

You may be thinking about veneers, crowns, whitening, or replacing older dental work. The first question is not which procedure sounds best. It is what your teeth and smile need to work well now, and what will make sense over time.

  1. Appearance

Shape, color, and proportion should work naturally together.

  2. Function

Teeth, bite, and existing restorations may affect the right sequence of care.

  3. Future options

A clear plan can show what should be addressed first and what can wait.

What a prosthodontist adds.

A prosthodontist is a dentist with additional specialty training in restoring and replacing teeth. Dr. Patel completed her specialty certificate in Prosthodontics at NYU College of Dentistry. For patients, that training is especially relevant when a smile change also involves worn teeth, crowns, bridges, missing teeth, or implant restorations.

See the whole smile.

Dr. Patel begins with the concern that brought you in, then considers the teeth, dental work, and goals involved before recommending a path forward. The result is a conversation about options and sequence, not pressure to choose a treatment before you understand it.

  1. Start with the concern.

Tell us what has changed or what you would like to improve.

  2. Look at what is involved.

Evaluate the teeth and existing dental work connected to that concern.

  3. Understand the plan.

Review the options, timing, and expected fees before treatment begins.

Training for complex decisions.

Dr. Patel earned her DDS from NYU College of Dentistry, completed her Prosthodontics specialty certificate there in 2021, and served as Chief Resident in the specialty program. She is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at NYU College of Dentistry.

Before you decide.

What is a prosthodontist?
A prosthodontist is a dentist with additional specialty training in restoring and replacing teeth. That can be useful when the decision involves the appearance of a smile as well as the condition of teeth and existing dental work.
Is this only for implants?
No. Patients see Dr. Patel for cosmetic and restorative concerns as well as implant restoration. When implants are part of care, Dr. Patel plans and fits the restoration that completes treatment and coordinates with the surgical phase.
Can I come in for a smile makeover if I do not know what I need?
Yes. Your first visit is a chance to discuss what you would like to change, evaluate what is involved, and understand the options before deciding on treatment.
Will I understand fees before treatment begins?
Your treatment plan includes a breakdown of applicable fees before treatment begins. The office can assist with dental insurance claims, and financing may be available through Cherry Finance, subject to lender approval and terms.
